Blue Zones Project Approved™
Restaurants
Restaurant meals can weigh us down or lift us up. The typical entrée in an American restaurant weighs in at 1,000 calories. For the average adult, eating one meal away from home per week translates to gaining about two additional pounds a year. The Blue Zones Project Approved restaurants below have demonstrated a commitment to offering smarter choices to their customers.
Blue Zones Food Guidelines: Centenarians in the original Blue Zones® areas don’t diet or count calories to stay lean and healthy. They simply eat whole foods each day, mostly plants. By adopting some of the healthy eating principles that define a Blue Zones lifestyle, you too can live longer, better®.

RESTAURANT
Sweet Peas Bakery
Bakersfield, CA, 93301
When we originally started our journey as Better Bowls serving vegan gluten free food we never imagined where we'd be five years later. We decided to pivot to a dedicated gluten free bakery because we saw a need for 100% gluten free baked goods that actually taste good. We are a locally owned and operated business who loves our community and want to provide the best experience when it comes to gluten free pastries and other baked goods. At Sweet Peas we believe gluten free food can taste just as good (and sometimes even BETTER) as all of the other pastries that are filled with gluten. We do our absolute best to make sure there is no cross contamination between other major allergens like nuts, dairy, eggs (again, still gluten free, no gluten). We also label our pastries with major allergens (still no gluten, we promise) to provide you with as much information as we can about our products.
